Once the Kinsect hits the desired part, it will glow the color of the buff. For instance with Rathian, the Attack buff will come from her Face, the Speed from her wings, and the Knockback from her feet. Each monster will have body parts that offer the different buffs. Diamond 1 will be a red attack buff, a white Diamond 2 will be speed buff, and Orange will be knock back prevention. So, as you may notice you can send out your Kinsect to Harvest Extract different buffs from the monster indicated in the top left corner with three diamond. First off let’s get these simple controls and combos down: The Kinsect is where things get a little more interesting. The Glaive will be some type of pole with a blade attached to one end that will be used to do all your damage to the monster. The weapon itself consists of two parts, the Glaive and the Kinsect. It deals with knowing the monsters, your positioning, and your weapon simultaneously. The Insect Glaive is not an easy weapon for beginners.
